3 Workarounds to Change the Primary Language of your Profile

YES, she can.

Linkedin is a LOVE OF MY LIVE, but as you I often argue or simply get mad about my love, this happens with me and Linkedin too. Now this is a funny, tricky issue here.

Anca Piglesan from Cluj, Romania (a Passionate HR Professional) asked me. I have searched, and got the results.

Here you can get the feeling I had. Linkedin has no straight way to do something, but only a WORKAROUND. C'mon Linkedin, this is so Mediterranean, or Eastern European; I mean we have workarounds for everything. But the states officially never tell you what is the workaround, not as Linkedin does it here.

⚠️Changing secondary language to first

FYI, this is a plain Linkedin blabla:

• Your site preferences allow you to adjust your LinkedIn language settings. You can select a primary language that you’d like to use on LinkedIn and also create your profile in a different language where your primary language profile will be your default profile.

Currently there is no option to change the language of your primary profile, but you can follow the steps below for a WORKAROUND:

To change the primary language of your profile when you have no secondary language profiles:

1. Create a new secondary language profile in your primary language. For example, if your primary language profile is in English, create the new secondary profile in English.
   Note: This will prompt you to choose a different language for your primary profile.
2. Select your desired language for your primary profile from the Language of existing profile dropdown.
3. Fill the required information to complete the new secondary profile.
   Note: The primary language of your profile will be changed to your choice. You can either retain the secondary language profile you’ve created or delete it.

⚠️Change your primary language when you have secondary language profiles

To change your primary language when you have one or more secondary language profiles:

1. Temporarily save all information from your secondary language profiles to a different source.
2. Delete all your secondary language profiles.
3. Create a new secondary language profile in your primary language. For example, if your primary language is in English, create a new secondary profile in English.

Note: This will prompt you to choose a different language for your primary profile.

1. Select your desired language for your primary profile from the Language of existing profile dropdown.
2. Fill the required information to complete the new secondary profile.
3. Create new secondary language profiles referring to the information you’ve saved in step 

⚠️Delete your secondary language profile

You can create your profile in a language that is different from your default profile. While you can't change the language of your primary profile, you can create as many additional language profiles from the options available.
Having multiple language profiles makes it easier for other members and recruiters to find you.

Notes:

1. Viewers will see your profile in the language that matches the one they're using the site in. If they're using the site in a language that you haven't created a secondary profile for, they'll see your profile in the language of your primary profile.
2. It's not possible to make a secondary profile your primary profile.
3. If you've created another language profile, viewers have the option to manually choose the language they want to view your profile in from the dropdown menu on the right rail of the page.
