To become a go to point is crucial. Your personal brand is based on it.

if people used to ask you and you usually know the answer, Quora is the place to go and answer them.

Quora is a great site to go whether you have a / loads of question/s or you have answers.

You can learn there a lot. Even from the questions, as they always come from an other point of view. So you need to give the best answers to be able to help your community.
When ​I've joined Quora, I only came for the answers to my questions, but now I mainly answer questions.

Can you share another company's post on your own company page on LinkedIn?

A:
Yes, you can.

Grab the link of the content and then follow these steps:

1. Find a relevant image in the post
2. Save that image on your computer/mobile/tablet
3. Share first the image on your Company page
4. Add a 1.5 line personal note to it
5. Add the link (use Sniply — Embed messages into the articles you share and then bit.ly - a URL Shortener and Link Management Platform to customize your links, to become user friendly)
6. Click share

Q:
How do I connect with a professor on LinkedIn?
When sending a personalized invitation, do I say “Hi Professor [last name]” “Hi [first name],” or “Dear____.”

A:
I would create first some 7–8 relevant content the Professor can see, then I would send her/him a message like: “Dear Professor __,” show your respect and be honest.

Q:
Why doesn't Linkedin show if a job is contract or permanent?
The job boards I use show if a job is Full Time or Part Time AND Contract or Permanent - with multiple choices possible. They also provide a search and job mail that allows you to filter by these criteria. 

Linkedin does not allow you to filter your job search or job email to only show contract (or perm) roles and it does not show it in the job summary. All the jobs I see say they are full time which suggests to me that the concept of full time and permanent have been conflated in Linkedin's job types. This lack of nuance effectively makes Linkedin a waste of time for contractors.

Why doesn't Linkedin fix it?

A:
Because Linkedin focuses on mass employment of the large corporations.

Why do LinkedIn pulse articles keep getting less and less engagement?

A:

• They are quite hidden
• More and more people write
• Often used false by recruiters, so many don’t like it
• Linkedin Notification algorithms are not sharing that good >> send your Articles via Linkedin Messaging to your network

Can LinkedIn really become a leader in online education for professionals?

A:
Yes, as they know what skills people need and the can teach them, with their own Lynda: Online Courses, Class, Training, Tutorials also known as Linkedin Learning. A separate application.

Q:
Why do LinkedIn updates get so many views compared to the articles I write?

A:
Articles (Pulse, Long form posts, Linkedin Today) became a separate app. So you can not find them that easy any longer.

No idea why did they separate the two things away.

Anyway updates are visible for two weeks or so, while the Articles are there until the shoot it down. So I recommend you to 1st post your article on your own blog and wait a week and post it on Linkedin as well.

How good is LinkedIn's Pro-finder for freelancers and consultants to get contracts?

A:
Very good, but works only in the US :-(

I hacked it once - at the beginning it only worked in the Bay area and I pretended to be in SF, and - got three jobs in a day.

A:
I don’t know how could it ruin, but this new UI/look has almost nothing to do with Microsoft - except of that minor issue, that now Linkedin has the power (the mon€¥) to hire the best software engineers.

A:
Outside of some great tools which will view people’s profiles, your professional ACTIVITY is building your brand the best.

You need to express your professionality on Linkedin.

You need to become the GO TO POINT.

Should I keep connected on LinkedIn to someone who tried to fire me?
The person tried to convince my boss to fire me, but he was not convincing enough. After some time the same person left the company.

A:
It is up to you.

Actually there might be a not bad connection in the far future. That person remembers you and will remember always in his/her life. And one day that turn to be a good, a valuable connection for you. S/he owe you one ;-)

Does anyone like the new layout of LinkedIn?

A:
I have to admit that I’m in a love-hate relationship with Linkedin.

• I hate that you have to relearn the whole system.
• I love that there is so much more potential in this new UI. It is much easier to read.
• The new UI is based on the mobile app. So if you like the Linkedin app on your mobile, you’ll easily will fall in love with the new one.

The reason it so slaw is that it is an app running (walking slow) ;-) on web.

It looks like LinkedIn has killed the display of your reading list and now I can not even get to the list.  I would like to pull my list data out to have

A:
Oh man, good morning, had a great sleep? Amazon, TripIt and some other apps were gone some 5 years ago.

You had to wake up earlier ;-)

Write them on their events…

Q:
How do I push a company/university logo automatically to a user profile?
I’m building a WordPress web app. I’m using BuddyPress for user profiles. I’m going to use JS to create autocomplete on registration. I want to automatically push a specific company logo to the users profile. I.e I select Bristol uni and their logo appears on my profile. How is this achieved?

A:
If a company/university has a Company/University page on Linkedin, and added the logo, you automatically can get that logo on your Profile.

If there is no logo, or the company/university is not added, you won’t be able to have the logo on your profile.
